I am currently developing an AI Voice Agent platform, and I’m reaching out regarding a billing issue.
On February 16, I accidentally provisioned a phone number and deleted it within 15 minutes, as it was for testing purposes. I see that two invoices of $2.00 each were generated. I have one active number that I intend to keep, but I’m being flagged with a “Past Due” warning for the deleted one, which puts my account at risk of shutdown.
Given that the number was deleted almost immediately and had zero usage, could you please cancel the invoice for the deleted number? I want to clear this warning so I can focus on finishing my integration.

Based on the available sources, starting February 1, 2026, phone numbers are charged upfront at purchase(1). When you buy and delete a phone number, an invoice is generated for that purchase(1)(2).
According to similar cases in the community, Retell AI support has voided invoices for phone numbers that were purchased and immediately deleted as a courtesy for new customers(1). The support team can cancel these invoices when the numbers are not being used(1).
To resolve your billing issue, you should contact Retell AI support directly with your workspace/organization ID:
When contacting support, provide your workspace ID (found in your dashboard) so they can investigate the billing issue and potentially void the invoice for the deleted number(1).
For verified phone numbers specifically, billing stops immediately upon service deletion(2). However, the invoice for the initial purchase period may still need to be addressed by the support team(1)(2).
