Hi, I work at Phenom. I am currently building an automated voice call workflow using the Retell API for a large conference in March.
My use case requires the agent to make outbound calls to employees located in Israel (international prefix +972).
Currently, outbound calls to this region appear to be unsupported or failing.
I have tried a workaround using a US Twilio number with call forwarding, but this solution is not scalable for my needs as I need to call dynamic destination numbers, not a single static number.
Can you please assist with one of the following:
Enable Israel (+972) for outbound calls on my account.

To enable outbound calls to Israel (+972) or other international destinations, you need to configure your phone number’s allowed countries settings in Retell AI(1).
When creating or updating a phone number, you can specify outbound_allowed_countries as a list of ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country codes(1). For Israel, you would include “IL” in this list(1).
If you’re using Retell-purchased numbers, you can set this during number creation(1). If you’re using custom telephony via SIP trunking with providers like Twilio or Telnyx, you’ll need to ensure two things:
Configure international dialing permissions in your telephony provider (for Twilio, search “geo” to find the “Voice Geographic Permissions” setting)(2)
Set the outbound_allowed_countries parameter when importing your number to Retell(3)(1)
If not set or empty, calls to all countries are allowed by default(1). However, your underlying telephony provider must also support calls to those destinations(2)(4).
For your conference use case requiring dynamic destination numbers to Israel, I recommend:
Check your Twilio account’s Voice Geographic Permissions to ensure Israel is enabled(2)
Import your Twilio number via SIP trunk to Retell with outbound_allowed_countries including “IL”(3)(2)
Use the Create Phone Call API to make dynamic outbound calls to different Israeli numbers(1)
