I don't understand the billing

Can you explain Retell’s billing method?

On the call history screen, I have two entries with costs:
a- 0.098
b- 0.144
and in the “Pay as you go” section, it shows 0.41.

What is the reason for this difference?

Hey @mensuras.ji

The call history shows the per-call costs (voice infra + LLM + telephony for each call). The “Pay as you go” / Usage section reflects your total billing-period charges, which can include additional items beyond the individual calls, such as:

  • Concurrency usage

  • Phone number rentals (e.g., $2/month per US number)

  • Knowledge base fees ($8/month each after the first 10)

  • Branded call or add-on services

  • Billing adjustments (e.g., minimum 10s for dynamic openings, or LLM token scaling for prompts > 3,500 tokens)

So 0.098 + 0.144 = 0.242 in call costs, and the remaining ~0.17 likely comes from these additional cost-by-provider breakdown.

Thank you.
