Hello Retell AI Team,
My name is Nikoloz Kandelaki, and I’m based in Tbilisi, Georgia. I’m building AI phone receptionists for small local businesses (salons, clinics, plumbers, car services) on Retell, but Georgian (ka-GE) is currently not among the supported languages, which is the main blocker for the Georgian market.
I would like to formally request Georgian support, and I’d also like to ask how I can actively help make it happen:
- What does Retell need in order to add a new language? (e.g., a supported speech-to-text model, a text-to-speech voice, internal quality testing, a minimum level of customer demand?)
- Is there a public roadmap or a way to track or upvote this request?
- In the meantime, is there any workaround — for example, using a custom or third-party STT/TTS provider, a realtime model, or the multilingual setting — that could work for Georgian?
Here is what I can offer as a native Georgian speaker:
- Testing and quality evaluation of Georgian speech recognition and voices (beta or early access);
- Real-world test calls with typical customer-service scenarios (bookings, FAQs, pricing, background noise);
- Lists of common Georgian names, addresses, numbers, and business terms that are often misrecognized;
- Feedback on pronunciation, naturalness, and turn-taking;
- Connecting you with local businesses interested in Georgian voice agents, to show real demand.
Georgian has around 3.7 million speakers, and there are currently very few voice-AI solutions in the language, so I believe there is a real opportunity here.
Thank you for your time. I look forward to your reply.
Best regards,
Nikoloz Kandelaki
