ECOM/ Campaign SMS Blasting

Anyone here ever tried ECOM/ Campaign blasting style SMS in Retell?

Haven’t done ecom blasting through Retell, and I wouldn’t use it for that.

Retell SMS is built for agent conversations, in-call and two-way chat, not bulk sends. The outbound API only fires one message at a time, there’s no blast feature. And it’s all on Twilio A2P, so your traffic has to match the campaign you registered. Marketing blasts are a stricter, separate campaign type, and if your sends don’t match what you signed up for the number can get suspended. US only too.

For actual ecom campaigns I’d use Klaviyo, Postscript or Twilio direct, and keep Retell for the conversational side. You can always hand replies off to a Retell agent if you want it two-way.

Is this pure promo, or more of a two-way follow up? Changes the answer.

I was thinking of more Account ID delivery and customer care retention for customer

That’s a much better fit for Retell actually.

Account ID delivery and customer care are transactional/conversational, which is exactly what Retell SMS is for, not the blasting case. You’d run it as two-way SMS with a chat agent on the number, and register your A2P campaign as customer care so your sample messages match what you actually send. Keep it US numbers and you’re good.

Only watch-out: still no bulk send, so if retention means proactive outreach to a list, you’d trigger those one at a time via the outbound SMS API rather than a blast.

What’s the trigger for the account ID message, is it mid-call or off the back of some event in your system?

Yes, I’m thinking the same thing. We do have a CRM that will trigger whenever they are enrolled.

Thank you for your help
