I’m hoping someone here has run into this before.
We purchased a toll-free number through Retell, and it looks like it’s sitting in their Twilio subaccount. We’re trying to get SMS enabled on it, but since we don’t have access to that underlying Twilio account, we’re a bit stuck.
Has anyone successfully gotten SMS (including toll-free verification) enabled on a number that lives in a provider managed Twilio subaccount? Is this something Retell would have to handle entirely, or is there any way for us to initiate or influence the process from our side?
Also curious if anyone has gone the route of porting a number out of a provider like Retell into their own Twilio account was that straightforward, or more trouble than it’s worth?
Appreciate any insight here. Just trying to figure out whether to push through Retell or cut over to a number we fully control.
