I have a question regarding the approval timeline.
If we submit the Phone Number Verification and Branded Call applications at the same time, will both approvals be completed within 1–2 weeks? Or does the process work sequentially, where Phone Number Verification takes 1–2 weeks first, followed by another 1–2 weeks for Branded Call approval, making the total timeline approximately 3–4 weeks?
Could you please clarify the expected turnaround time?
Hey @rdandekar - Both applications are reviewed by the downstream carrier registry , not by Retell, and each typically takes about 1–2 weeks to process.
For long-code (local) numbers, Phone Number Verification and Branded Call are independent applications and can be submitted in parallel against an approved Business Profile — so end-to-end is roughly 1–2 weeks, not 3–4.
For toll-free numbers, the chain is gated: Business Profile → Verified Phone Number → Branded Call. Branded Call cannot be submitted until Verified Phone Number is approved, so realistic end-to-end there is closer to 2–4 weeks.
Retell cannot expedite either review. If anything sits past the 2-week window, let us know and we can check per-carrier status and, if warranted, open a ticket with the upstream provider.
They run in parallel, not sequentially. Submit both at the same time and expect both to be approved within 1-2 weeks. You don’t have to wait for phone number verification to finish before branded call approval starts — they process simultaneously so you’re looking at 1-2 weeks total, not 3-4
