The “No valid KYC” error means your account hasn’t completed KYC (Know Your Customer) verification, which is required before you can make outbound calls with Retell(1).
Purchasing a phone number alone doesn’t automatically complete KYC verification(1). You need to complete the verification process separately.
How to Complete KYC Verification
Automatic Verification: Retell may automatically verify your account based on the information you provided during registration(1). If this applies, your KYC will be approved without any additional steps(1).
Verification via Persona: If automatic verification is not possible, you will be asked to complete KYC through Persona using your government-issued ID(1). You can go to “Phone Numbers”, click on any of your numbers, and you’ll see the interface where you can start the KYC process(1).
Retell currently supports verification in 83 countries(1). If your country is not listed, you should contact Retell support — they will review your case based on risk and business needs and may enable verification for your country(1).
Important Restrictions
Each person can verify only one account(1). Retell’s system detects duplicate identities, so even using a different government ID may be flagged as a duplicate(1). If your previous account was verified and later deleted, contact Retell’s support team to request a manual review(1).
Once you complete the KYC verification process through the dashboard, the “No valid KYC” error should be resolved and outbound calling will be enabled.
