Anyone from New Zealand using RetellAI? I am trying to use One.NZ SIP trunk settings and it just does not work.

I can make the SIP trunk work from my laptop using a soft phone.

I think the issue is because you’re connecting your SIP directly to Retell.

In my case, I’m using a slightly different approach I don’t connect directly. I use a control layer in between to handle the SIP session and routing first, then pass it to Retell.

That setup makes it more flexible (especially for providers that require registration) and gives better control over the call flow like transfers, callbacks, etc.

I treat Retell as part of the system, not the main endpoint.
