Urgent Request for Response on Data Residency and Privacy Requirements

I need an urgent response on this.

I have been using Retell for a long time and have also referred your platform to multiple clients, so I’m reaching out expecting a clear and timely response on this matter.

One of my current client use cases has strict privacy and regional data residency requirements, and I need to understand Retell’s enterprise capabilities before we proceed further.

Our main questions are:

  • Does Retell support deployment options or architecture choices that provide stronger control over data privacy?

  • Can customer data, call recordings, transcripts, and related processing be restricted to a single region?

  • Can you provide assurance that a given client’s data will remain within one selected region, as required by the client?

  • What options are available for healthcare and other compliance-sensitive environments?

  • Do you offer any on-premises, private deployment, or isolated enterprise setup?

This is a critical requirement for our client, and I would really appreciate a prompt response.

What Retell does for data privacy control:

  • Data Storage Settings: Per-agent control over what’s stored — choose “Everything,” “Everything except PII” (with configurable PII scrubbing categories), or “Basic Attributes Only” (no transcripts/recordings/logs). See these docs /accounts/privacy-disable.

  • Data Retention Policies: Configurable per-agent auto-deletion from 1 day to 730 days. For more details see /accounts/data-retention.

  • Self-hosted models are mentioned as a reliability feature to reduce third-party dependencies.

Thank you for the details on storage controls and retention settings.

However, our main requirement is specifically about data residency and localization, and that part is still not clear.

Could you please confirm in writing:

  1. Which data regions are currently available?

  2. Whether call recordings, transcripts, logs, metadata, and model processing can be restricted to a single selected region

  3. Whether any subprocessors or third-party services involved in handling this data would remain in that same region

  4. Whether Retell can offer a VPC, private deployment, or on-prem setup for this use case

  5. Whether you can provide this assurance through enterprise documentation, DPA/BAA, or another formal written commitment

This is a strict client requirement, so we need a direct and explicit confirmation on the above points before proceeding.
