Outlook Calendar disconnected from Cal.com

My receptionist suddenly was no longer able to book appointments, so I explored Cal.com, and it says

“Something went wrong. Outlook Calendar: Try reconnecting your calendar with all necessary permissions”

what caused this?

The error you’re seeing is a Cal.com calendar connection issue, not a Retell AI-specific problem(1). This happens when Cal.com loses its connection to your Outlook Calendar(1).

Based on community reports, this is a known issue where Cal.com’s integration with calendars can disconnect, preventing the booking function from working properly(1). One user reported: “The calendar is successfully connected, but sometimes meetings aren’t scheduled, even though the assistant says they are. Cal.com shows that there are no meetings. Also, the assistant occasionally reports an error when trying to schedule a meeting”(1).

To resolve this:

  1. Go to your Cal.com dashboard
  2. Navigate to the calendar connections/integrations section
  3. Reconnect your Outlook Calendar with all necessary permissions
  4. Ensure Cal.com has full read/write access to your calendar

Once you’ve reconnected your Outlook Calendar in Cal.com with the proper permissions, your Retell AI receptionist should be able to book appointments again(2)(3).

If the issue persists after reconnecting, you may want to:

  • Check that your Cal.com API key is still valid in your Retell AI function configuration(2)(3)
  • Verify your Event Type ID is correct(2)(3)
