Edit Phone Number Details or Delete Phone Number?

I need to update the Termination SIP URI for the number I imported, but I don’t see a way. The AI helper says someone somewhere mentioned about changing the number through the dashboard, but I do not see it.

I tried to make a new number, but the system will not allow it, because the number already exists.

Does anyone know a way to either edit the telephone information or if necessary, delete it? Then I can either update with the correct details or make a new one with the correct details.

Based on the available documentation, if you need to change the configuration of an imported number, you’ll need to delete and re-import the number(1).

You can delete the number from the dashboard or programmatically via the Delete Number API(1). Once deleted, you can import it again with the correct Termination SIP URI using either the dashboard or the Import Number API(1).

When you re-import, make sure to supply the correct termination SIP URI you set up in your SIP trunking configuration(1). If you have set up authentication via credentials, you’ll also need to supply the username and password(1).

After the number is imported with the correct configuration, you can make and receive calls with this number just like a number you purchased from Retell—it will show up in your dashboard, and you can make phone calls from the dashboard directly(1).

You can update the Termination SIP URI of the number

Go to the phone numbers tab → choose the number you want to edit → click on the 3 dots like the image → click Edit phone numbers settings

Your solution worked! For some reason the screen needed to be scrolled slightly to the right so I could see the 3 dots. The screenshot was helpful.
