Unable to Create New Workspace – "User has reached the limit of allowed organizations"

Hi everyone,

I’m running into an issue when trying to create a new workspace in Retell AI.

Whenever I click Create Workspace and enter the workspace details, I receive the following error:

“User has reached the limit of allowed organizations.”

We manage a large number of client workspaces under our account, and this is now preventing us from creating any new workspaces.

Has anyone else encountered this issue?

A few questions:

  • Is there a limit on the number of organizations/workspaces per user or account?
  • Can this limit be increased?
  • Is there a way to request a higher quota from Retell?
  • Does upgrading the plan resolve this, or does Support need to enable it manually?

I’ve already contacted Retell Support but wanted to check if anyone in the community has experienced this and found a solution.

I’ve attached a screenshot of the error for reference.

Thanks in advance for any help

Hey @wiqass quick answers:

  • Yes, there’s a per-user limit. Each user account can create up to 50 workspaces by default. The limit is per signup user, not per plan.

  • Yes, it can be raised. Reply with the email(s) at support@retellai.com that need a higher cap and a target number sized to your near-term need (e.g. 100 / 150 / 200).

  • Upgrading the plan does not change this — it’s a Support-side adjustment, not a plan feature. Send the details at support@retellai.com and we’ll take care of it.

One thing to flag if you’re planning a lot of workspaces: each workspace is its own billing + permissions boundary (separate concurrency, phone numbers, API keys, invoice), so operational overhead grows with the count. Happy to walk through the workspace-per-client trade-offs if that’s your use case.

Thank You
