I used retell to build a chat agent in January. The newer chatbots have a more updated retell software prompt tree. Does anyone know how to update the old chatbot to the new retell version easily?

Based on my suggestion, there isn’t currently a one-click option in Retell to automatically upgrade an older agent to the latest prompt structure. Agents created earlier continue using the prompt structure that was available at the time they were built, while newer agents start with the latest best practices. However, you don’t need to rebuild your agent from scratch.
I’d recommend opening your existing agent and using Conductor (the sparkle icon). You can simply ask it to review and modernize your agent with prompts such as “Review this agent and restructure it to match current best practices” or "Modernize this prompt and optimize the logic." Conductor will suggest improvements based on the latest recommended patterns and present each proposed change with a clear before-and-after comparison. Nothing is applied automatically ,you can review every suggestion and accept only the changes you want.
Before making any updates, I’d also recommend saving your current agent as a new version so you have a rollback point. Then make the changes in a draft, test everything thoroughly, and publish only after you’re satisfied. If you’d like to compare with the latest structure, you can also create a temporary new agent using the current template and use it as a reference.
