# How do I lessen the conversation history tokens, or is this out of our control in retell ai?

I would like to reduce the conversational history (turns) my agent performs in order to have “context”. Is there a way to structure this in retell ai or is it out of our control?

If conversation history is in reference to that specific call, you can lessen your future conversation history per turn by instructing your agent to give more brief responses.
