Having issues uploading a .md file to knowledge base using API

The KB_ID is knowledge_base_4e016506ca5c02f4

My files were able to be uploaded before but have since been failing. The error is too vague for me to be able to figure out what is wrong. my file is under 50mb

We recommend trying the following steps to resolve the issue:

1. Retry the upload.

2. If the .md file is large or contains complex content (e.g., tables or code blocks), try splitting it into smaller files before uploading.

3. Alternatively, you can use the text source type by reading the file contents and passing them as a knowledge_base_texts entry instead of uploading it as a file.

Could you share the approximate size of the zzue2n-extract_1.md file? That would help us confirm whether the size is triggering the timeout.

Hi im uploading using API and it has worked for me before. my file sizes are not close to 50mb, its probably half if not less than that. the file is all markdown text and headings.

i attempted another upload it it resulted in the below. the KB id is knowledge_base_90c89e3283dde383
Failed to process the knowledge base:
• Error creating knowledge base file source: 8gbzzf-extract_1.md
• Error creating knowledge base file source: qait3m-extract_2.md

Hi Mark, I had to splice the file in many different ways before i was able to successfully upload it here. it seems like the retell processing engine failed on files greater than 8mb in markdown. i suspect it may be due to the amount of embeddings it trying to create as my file has a lot of headers
