after adding words to the custom pronounciation and providing it the IPA phoenetic pronounciation, when I go to test my agent and have it say those words, its still not following the custom pronounciation I gave it.

Yeah here are the words, and I’ve also been testing now using the test agent feature natively in Retell instead of initiating calls directly:

Coumadin - /ˈkuːmədən/
Eliquis - /ɛˈlɪkwɪs/
Plavix - /ˈplɔːvɪks/
Mounjaro - /mɑːnˈdʒɑːroʊ/

Team checked this and please update each pronunciation entry to remove the leading and trailing / characters: for example, Wegovy → wʊˈɡoʊvi (not /wʊˈɡoʊvi/)

Hi @shaw that did not fix the problem either. The agent is still not following the pronounciation. If its easier, I am happy to discuss this over a live a call and show you the failure modes

@shaw im also noticing that the agent is just not consistnet and pronouncing things differently each time. im not sure if my custom pronounciations are even going through and thats why its pronouncing them incorrectly, differently each time. or if they are going through, and still just being inconsistent

Hey @sathvik Are you saying that if you remove the pronunciations, the output sounds exactly the same? If so, could you run one test call without the pronunciations and another with them, then provide both recordings? Having these two calls—one with and one without pronunciations—will help us diagnose the issue more effectively.
