# Cannot re-add deleted custom SIP number

Hi,

I deleted a custom SIP phone number from Retell, but now I can’t add it again. The portal says:

“Phone number already exists.”

The number does not appear in my phone number list anymore, and retrieving it through the API returns 404. I also tried deleting it through the API, which returns success, but importing it again still returns:

HTTP 400: “Phone number already exists.”

It looks like the deleted number is still reserved somewhere. Is there a way to fully release or restore a deleted custom SIP number so it can be added again?
