Are agents able to recognize gender of the person they are calling? I had an agent get into an awkward, and potentially offensive, conversation with someone asking to speak with Dave when it was clearly a woman who picked up the phone. Then, the agent kept trying to confirm whether she was Dave. It did not go well. Any tips or advice?
Hey @aparritz There’s no built-in gender recognition feature in Retell AI. The best fix is to add explicit instructions in your agent’s prompt to handle this gracefully. This gives the LLM the context to pivot naturally instead of awkwardly persisting. You can also enable the High Empathy preset in the Agent Handbook to soften the interaction when things get uncomfortable. Can you share that relevent Agent ID and Call Id? Thank You
